Serving on Town Council is about more than making decisions. It is about listening to the people who call Parker home, understanding the challenges we face, and working together to find thoughtful solutions.

Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of hearing directly from residents, families, business owners, and community leaders about what matters most to them. Those conversations have shaped the way I serve and have helped guide my focus on protecting public safety, supporting our local businesses, investing in our youth, and preserving the hometown character that makes Parker special.

As Parker continues to grow and evolve, we must continue addressing the challenges before us while staying true to the values that brought so many of us here. I believe strong leadership means being willing to listen, collaborate, and take action to ensure Parker remains a community we are proud to call home, both today and for future generations.

Keeping Parker safe has always been one of my highest priorities, and I believe public safety is the foundation of a strong community. As your Town Councilmember, I have worked to ensure our police department has the resources, staffing, and tools needed to continue providing the exceptional service our residents expect.

One of my proudest areas of advocacy has been protecting and strengthening School Resource Officer (SRO) programs, not only here in Parker but across communities nationwide. For the past three years, I have served on the National League of Cities Public Safety & Crime Prevention Federal Advocacy Committee, where I have worked directly with local leaders and federal policymakers to advocate for resources that help communities keep students safe.

Through this role, I have traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of Congress and advocate for federal support for SRO programs. I have shared the importance of having trained law enforcement professionals in our schools who build relationships with students, support educators, and serve as a trusted resource for families and communities.

After years of collaboration, advocacy, and bipartisan conversations, I was proud to help advance support for federal SRO funding legislation in March 2026. This effort demonstrated that protecting children and supporting school safety can bring people together across party lines. While my role on this committee represents communities beyond Parker, my motivation has always been personal: ensuring our own students, families, and schools have the resources they need to remain safe.

Public safety requires more than a response after something happens. It requires proactive leadership, investment, and preparation. That same commitment has guided my work locally through supporting the Parker Police Department with the resources needed to serve our growing community, including investments in additional officers, specialized equipment, police apprehension dogs, and the tools our officers need to protect residents effectively.

Public safety is not something we can take for granted. It requires continued investment, proactive leadership, and a commitment to ensuring our officers have the support they need every day.

Parker’s local businesses are the heart of our community. As a small business owner in Downtown Parker, I understand firsthand the dedication, risk, and passion it takes to build and operate a business. Supporting our business community means more than encouraging economic growth. It means building strong relationships, listening to business owners, and creating an environment where entrepreneurs can succeed.

Throughout my service on Town Council, and as the Town Council liaison to the Parker Chamber of Commerce, I have made connecting with our business community a priority. I regularly meet with local business owners, attend ribbon cuttings, celebrate new businesses opening their doors, and work to strengthen communication between the Town, the Chamber, and the people who invest in our community.

I also believe in being honest with residents about the role of local government in economic development. While the Town can create a welcoming environment, advocate for the types of businesses that align with our community values, and build relationships with companies we believe would be a great fit for Parker, we cannot simply choose every business that opens or operate as though we are selecting from a menu. A thriving economy depends on a strong free market, property rights, and businesses making decisions based on their own investments and opportunities.

That does not mean we sit on the sidelines. It means we actively engage, build relationships, and advocate for the businesses our residents want to see in Parker. Whether that is reaching out to businesses like Whole Foods or supporting the locally owned businesses already here, my goal is to continue working toward a diverse, vibrant business community that enhances the quality of life for everyone who calls Parker home.

Strong businesses create strong communities. They provide jobs, support families, contribute to our local economy, and help preserve the unique character that makes Parker special.

Strong communities are built by ensuring that young people have a safe environment, supportive resources, and a voice in the decisions that impact their lives. As a councilmember, I believe it is our responsibility to listen directly to our youth, understand the challenges they are facing, and work collaboratively to address them.

Through my service on the Douglas County Youth Initiative board, I have worked alongside community leaders, educators, parents, and young people to identify challenges and create solutions that support the well-being of our youth. Each year at our Youth Congress, we hear directly from more than 100 local teens who share their concerns, experiences, and ideas. Their feedback allows us to better understand the issues impacting young people today and advocate for meaningful solutions at both the local and state level.

The concerns our youth bring forward are real and evolving, including mental health resources, school safety, bathroom concerns, e-bike and scooter safety, social media threats, and other challenges affecting students and families. By creating opportunities for honest conversations, we can better support our young people and ensure their voices are part of the solution.

I am also committed to protecting our youth through education and prevention. Working with community partners, we have focused on increasing awareness among students and parents about the dangers of fentanyl and the devastating impact it can have on families and communities. Education, communication, and early intervention are critical tools in keeping our children safe.

As a mother of four, I understand the importance of creating a community where families feel supported and where young people have the opportunity to thrive. Investing in our youth means listening to them, advocating for them, and making decisions today that will positively impact Parker for generations to come.

Parker’s greatest strength has always been its sense of community. It is the reason families choose to move here, the reason longtime residents stay, and the reason so many of us are proud to call Parker home. Protecting that character does not mean resisting growth. It means making thoughtful, intentional decisions that honor the voices of our residents and ensure our community grows in a way that reflects our shared values.

As a member of Town Council, I have taken seriously the responsibility of listening to our residents and making decisions that protect the quality of life they value. Every development decision has an impact on the future of our town, and I believe we have a responsibility to carefully consider how those decisions affect our neighborhoods, our infrastructure, our schools, our businesses, and the overall character of Parker.

During my time on Council, we have made meaningful decisions that have helped protect the community our residents love. We have worked to create stronger standards around certain commercial developments, including limiting where gas stations and car washes can be located, ensuring these types of businesses are placed thoughtfully and in areas where they make sense for the surrounding community. These decisions were not about saying no to business. They were about ensuring the right development happens in the right places while protecting the character of our neighborhoods.

We have also carefully evaluated high-density residential proposals and made difficult decisions when projects did not align with the surrounding area, available infrastructure, or the community vision for that location. Growth is inevitable, but responsible growth requires leadership willing to ask the hard questions and make decisions based on what is best for Parker long term.

One of the greatest responsibilities of serving on Town Council is balancing the needs of today with the future we want to create. I believe our residents deserve leaders who will listen first, evaluate thoughtfully, and make decisions with the next generation of Parker families in mind.

My commitment to preserving Parker extends beyond development decisions. Through my role as Vice-Chair of the Greater Parker Foundation, I continue working to strengthen the programs, spaces, and community investments that make Parker unique. The Foundation helps support important initiatives that enhance our community, including parks, recreation and open space, education, public safety, cultural programs, and preserving Parker’s history and legacy.

Protecting Parker’s hometown character is not about keeping our community frozen in time. It is about respecting where we came from, listening to the people who call Parker home, and making sure the choices we make today create a community future generations will be proud to inherit.
